I recently bought a used Sat 500.

It works fine, but has developed a problem that I discovered by accident.

If I give the top of the radio a fairly sharp tap, the sound seems to mute.
If I either tap the back of the radio sharply, or shut it off and turn it
on, the sound level comes back to normal.

Is there anything I can check inside to fix this, or should I get it
repaired? If it needs a repair, where would I send it.....preferably in the
NY area, or at least on the east coast. Any idea of cost to fix a 500, and
is it worth fixing. I paid $100 for it, so I would not mind spending a few
$$$ to get it fixed.

It is more of an annoyance, since I do not plan to tap the radio, but it
bothers me that this happens.

Also-it says in the instruction manual that the display and key pad should
be lighted when on AC, or for 10 seconds when on battery when a key is
touched. My unit does not do this. Is here a diode or lamp inside that
must be changed?
